A mirror becomes a mirror only when it has an extremely refined smooth surface for an image to form. The most traditional form of mirrors is the regular plain mirror. The mirrors were basically used for daily grooming by humans. But with modern trend, mirror has become a decorative piece. Mirrors are used to decorate homes, offices and many public places.

The images that we see in the mirrors are of virtual types, though there are other varieties of mirrors that form real images. There are different categories of mirrors that we use in our day-to-day life. The most common type of mirrors is plane, cylindrical, spherical, convex and concave based on the reflective surface contour. There are parallel mirrors that generate several infinite images. Mirrors are made in different size and shapes to suit the needs of the customer. With modern technology, shaped mirrors are customized to suit the interior décor of homes and offices.

The size and shape of the mirror can have an effect on the overall look of the place. For instance, people prefer oval mirrors for bathrooms as it gives a softer tone and a feminine look. Oval wall mirrors placed in your house can create an astonishing and exclusive living space.
